Breedlove's mother, Patricia, shared the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post where she praised his son's talent as a rapper, singer, songwriter and actor.

"Nashawn's departure from this world has left an immense void in my life, one that words cannot fully express," she continued. "I can't put into words the pain and hurt that I feel. He was not just my son; he was a remarkable man whose character and strength inspired all who crossed his path."

Patricia also did not disclose Nashawn Breedlove's cause of death. Details about his funeral have yet to be disclosed.

Breedlove famously appeared in the film "8 Mile," where he had a rap battle against Eminem's B-Rabbit. Lotto, his character, rapped bars, including "I'll spit a racial slur, honkey, sue me/This shit is a horror flick, but a Black guy doesn't die in this movie" and "I feel bad, but I gotta murder that dude from Leave It to Beaver."

He eventually lost the battle.

Breedlove's notable appearance left a positive impact to the viewers and other artists in the music industry. So after his death, he received an outpouring amount of tribute as they remembered his career and legacy in the industry.

Mickey Factz wrote, "RIP to one of the few emcee's to beat Eminem... Lotto from 8 Mile. Who's friends lovingly called him, OX. You will be missed for your tenacity and aggressiveness."

"Only rapper from the movie that wrote his part RIP Lotto aka OX," one fan added.

His son, Zaak, called him the "Legend of Hip Hop" after his passing.
