Not only was the singer called out by PETA for not buying a pet from a shelter, but now fans are concerned for the safety of her dogs due to an Instagram video posted that showed her with knives in hand and spinning around.
Despite the "Baby One More Time" singer's insistence that the knives she used in the video were not real, fans anxiously worry as the loud clinking sound they made suggests otherwise, and they fear for the safety of her roaming dogs in the background.
Alarmingly, the pooches could be put at risk due to her actions.
Monday saw the 41-year-old pop sensation taking to Instagram, posting a video of herself flaunting her moves.
Wearing a polka dot crop top and white bottoms, the star spun around her tiled living room floor barefoot while brandishing two knives in either hand as she danced gracefully.
The small dogs crawling around the floor echoed off the walls as she placed several sports-themed towels around her.
Taking to Instagram, she excitedly shared, "I started playing in the kitchen with knives today! Don't worry - they're not real! With Halloween coming up so soon!!!"
Fans were highly suspicious when they noticed Britney Spears may have been injured while dancing.
Upon closer inspection, it became clear that the pop star had disguised her wounds behind her dance moves during the first video. But those who watched more carefully could spot a cut on her leg, a white bandage on her arm, and even a bruise near her right hip.

In the wake of Britney's video, people on the internet were vocal in their worries about her pets.
When she rattled two knives together, the puppies reflexively fled from the unfamiliar sound - a typical reaction for young canines.
Users expressed deep concern about their safety after the video of her with two dogs circulated.
One worried user wrote, "Those poor dogs just ran scared they need to be rescued, and she needs HELP."
Another fan commented, "I'm now concerned about her having dogs, let alone any animals after this video."

Local animal control was notified of the allegedly mishandled dogs.
However, Ventura County Animal Services has not received any official complaints.
When they looked at the video posted online, it seemed as though the canines were startled by the knives clinking but weren't in danger.
A spokesperson from their agency stated, per The Blast, "We didn't feel they were in a situation where an officer needed to be dispatched."
