There is a wild and crazy theory going around on the Internet right now: the "Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect," and this is how it might affect Taylor Swift.
Word on the street is, the "Anti-Hero" singer might end up marrying her current beau, NFL superstar Travis Kelce, as per the "Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect," a term coined by marriage and family therapist Gayane Aramyan.
According to reports, the "Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect" is when someone ends their long-term "unfulfilling" relationship, and gets into a fling, before finding "the one."
"After someone gets out of an unfulfilling relationship, especially a long-term one, they may want to explore other 'types' to figure out what makes them happy," explained Aramyan.
"Because for so long they were unhappy or unfulfilled, they may explore other options to find their type. So it makes sense that after trying that out, they may date someone new who fits their needs and makes them feel fulfilled."
Exploring Taylor Swift's Recent Relationships
Following the principle of the "Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect," this means that the person who is associated with the long-term unfulfilling relationship is Swift's ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
According to reports, the pair couple broke up after six years of dating. While there is not a lot of information about what was the reason behind the split, sources claim that it was due to "differences in their personalities."
The next is the fling, which is associated with The 1975's frontman, Matty Healy.
Shortly after her break up with Alwyn, the "Lavender Haze" singer got together with Healy.
According to reports, they were seen holding hands and going on dates in New York in May.
Apparently, this romance was rekindled because this was not the first time they were romantically linked. They were first linked back in December 2014.
Nonetheless, the relationship was not built to last despite the second chance at the romance, because shortly after they were confirmed to be dating, Swift and Healy parted ways.
