Rumors had been swirling for several years before Keefe D's shock arrest regarding his involvement in the murder of Tupac Shakur.

Last Friday, Duane "Keefe D" Davis was taken into custody and charged with being the group leader responsible for Tupac's death in 1996.

Police have declared him one of four people linked to this cruel crime at its outset.

Although he has been open about supplying the gun used in the drive-by shooting, the police have not been able to connect him to it officially.

However, witnesses have reported hearing whispered boasts from him that he was responsible and law enforcement would never be able to prove it - "The police ain't gonna do s--t," as was reported by those in Las Vegas to The Sun.

For years, Keefe D acted with total disregard for the possibility of justice catching up to him for his part in a killing two decades back.

According to one source, as time began to run out, he seemed to almost revel in talking and bragging about his involvement in the murder of Tupac.

Keefe was the talk of the town, renowned for supposedly knowing the truth behind Tupac's death.

In fact, at parties and other social gatherings, Keefe D's presence was keenly felt. But when asked whether or not this knowledge made him fearful of police repercussions, Keefe would shrug off such concerns - "The police ain't gonna do s--t," according to one source.

Contrary to what Keefe D assumed, his naivete about the law had landed him into trouble; according to particular associates and friends, he was aware of a settlement known as a proffered deal that safeguarded him from any possible prosecution.

The Tupac case had been largely ignored by the authorities of the Metro Police in Vegas for a long time due to their belief that there was insufficient evidence for them to proceed with the investigation.

Despite efforts made by Metro police officers to contact Keefe, he chose to ignore them. This reportedly led detectives to consider whether the braggadocious comments made by Keefe could be used in a prosecution. The District Attorney was consulted on this matter.

The police had been making inquiries about the case when the suspect boldly declared, "You ain't got nothing on me," leading to the cops' current action.
