The country legend recently spoke in an interview with the Guardian earlier this week where she revealed that her iconic outfits and appearances in the past was based off the "town tramp," which is a local woman who wore tight skirts and high heels.

Describing the way she dresses back in the day, Parton said her persona was "flamboyant" and had bright red lipstick as well as long fingernails.

"She had high-heeled shoes, little floating plastic goldfish in the heels of them, short skirts, low-cut tops, and I just thought she was beautiful," she added.

Dolly Parton Says She Didn't Want to Grow Up Like the Women in Her Family

Later on, the singer opened up that most women in her family and in her town in Tennessee spent most of their lives being a homemaker and children.

However, she noted that she didn't want to be like them as she felt that it wasn't what God had in mind for her.

The reason why she broke free of the norm in her town was because someone needed to entertain and write songs about them.

Although Dolly Parton had been married to Carl Thomas Dean since 1966, the pair never had any children.
