Liam Payne has encountered a recent run-in with the law after getting behind the wheel and exceeding the designated speed limit in the area.
Now, he has been banned temporarily from driving in the United Kingdom.
Liam Payne Banned From Driving
According to BBC, the former One Direction Star has been barred from getting behind the wheel again in the foreseeable future. The exact date when the band would be lifted has not been disclosed.
Liam Payne was fined a total of £500 including the surcharge and costs. Reportedly in February 2023, he was spotted driving a Ford Ranger at 43mph in a 30mph zone on the Westway flyover in Shepherd's Bush, west London.
Payne has since apologized to the court for the recent mishap and even wrote that he "did not realize the speed limit and apologized for speeding." (via The Evening Standard)

Liam Payne Kidney Infection
News about the One Direction star has been quite grim recently. Last September 2023, he revealed on Instagram that he would be pausing his tour in South America after being diagnosed with a kidney infection.
"I've been in the hospital with a bad kidney infection," he said in a video at the time. "We started rehearsals and I've just been advised that now is really not the right time to be out on the road trying to recover from this. I have the best people around me trying to help me recover as we speak, but we're going to have to reschedule the tour."
Notably, Liam was hospitalized in Italy. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Liam Payne's mother shared a statement.
'We are all worried sick about it but we just have to get on. It's horrible - him being all the way over there. He's in Milan and it sounds like he'll be there for a week. I feel helpless. It's such a horrible situation and we just hope he's in the best place possible," she said.
Meanwhile, a source close to Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of Payne's son, Bear, revealed that she was worried about Payne's condition.
"She's always tried to support him because he's Bear's father and she's always tried to be there for him," they said. "It's very hard for Cheryl - she feels upset about it. She is worried and concerned for Liam because he's Bear's dad and she wants him to be the best dad he can be."
