"My mom had been in touch with a lawyer she'd met on my audition circuit, a man named Larry Rudolph, who she would call sometimes for business advice," she wrote in her memoir.

This manager, as Spears recalled suggested that she recorded a demo from Tonu Braxton - this has become the demo that she used to get interviews from record labels.

"Larry took me around [New York City], and I went into rooms full of executives and sang Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing,'" Spears remembered. "Gazing out at the rooms full of men in suits looking me up and down in my small dress and high heels, I sang loud."

Thanks to her unwavering commitment and dedication to get work, Spears recalled working on her debut album, "Baby One More Time."

"I worked for hours straight. My work ethic was strong. If you knew me then, you wouldn't hear from me for days. I would stay in the studio as long as I could. If anyone wanted to leave, I'd say, 'I wasn't perfect.' When all the songs were done, someone said, 'What else can you do? Do you want to dance now?' I said, 'Hell yeah, I do!"' she said in her memoir.

Growing up, Spears has been widely regarded as a sex symbol by many.

Britney Spears A Sex Symbol

In a 2001 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Britney Spears reflected on the growing concern at the time about her public image.

"I guess it's because I do have a younger audience that, you know, parents worry about the role model thing.... But when I was younger, I looked up to people, but I never wanted to be them. I always had my own identity. I'm an entertainer when I'm on stage...and they need to explain that to their kids. That's not my job to do that," she explained.

Later on, Britney Spears has been regarded not just as a sex symbol, but also as an LGBTQ icon, along with Madonna and Christina Aguilera.
