Jon Bon Jovi To Be Honored as 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year

MusiCares announced on Thursday, October 19, that Bon Jovi will receive recognition for his humanitarian efforts through the organization's ceremony and tribute concert dedicated to him.

"I'm truly humbled to be this year's MusiCares honoree. MusiCares' work with music professionals is vitally important in creating much needed support and wellness programs that cultivate a healthier and more vibrant community for us all," Bon Jovi said in a press release.

The "Livin' on a Prayer" hitmaker will be the second musician from New Jersey to receive the award, following Bruce Springsteen who was the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year.

He is also the youngest solo honoree since Don Henley scored the award in 2007 when he was 59.

In addition, Bon Jovi will follow the list of band leaders who scored the honor over the past few years - Bono, Springsteen and Tom Petty.

He notably founded the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation in 2006 to fight hunger, poverty and homelessness.
