Amid all the excitement surrounding Britney Spears' "The Woman in Me," her former flame Justin Timberlake has yet to comment.

According to Us Weekly, since the "Baby One More Time" singer's memoir contains details about their past relationship that he isn't pleased with, he is feeling "disappointed" by what has been revealed.

A source revealed to the publication that despite his expectations, Britney chose to detail their very individual and intimate struggles in a public manner.

"He didn't anticipate such an airing of grievances, particularly many years after their parting," they said. "It came as a surprise to him."

On October 24, Britney Spears's book was released and disclosed intimate details of her relationship with the former NSYNC singer.

According to the "Toxic" hitmaker, they were unfaithful to one another throughout their romance, and she kept a pregnancy hidden from the public by having an abortion.

Britney declared that Justin "did not want to be a father" at that time and consequently pushed her to take action.

The source expressed their surprise at the situation between Justin and Britney, commenting,

"It's been ages since these two were in each other's lives, and yet she still talks about him all the time - it's strange to him."

In her memoir, Britney provided an in-depth description of her at-home abortion experience. She recounts the ordeal as being incredibly painful and that Justin tried to bring some form of solace by playing music while she wept uncontrollably.

"It took hours, and I don't remember how it ended, but I do, 20 years later, remember the pain of it and the fear," Britney said in the book.

Many were angry over Justin's behavior. However, Britney clarified in an Instagram post on October 20 that she has left these events in the past. The singer also highlighted that this book was not intended to hurt anyone.

Us Weekly heard from yet another source about Justin's perspective on his past with Britney.

This individual commented that Justin is feeling remorseful now, saying, "He was young. He regrets hurting her and believes she deserves to tell her story. He wants to reach out and see what he can do moving forward."

The "Cry Me River" singer appears willing to open up dialogue to make amends.
