In an attempt to revamp his career, Will Smith reportedly hopes to return to rap.

His big screen roles have been few and far between since the incident at the 2022 Oscars, where he slapped Chris Rock. An unnamed source has come forward revealing the Academy Award-winning actor's intentions.

Will Smith, the 55-year-old former "Fresh Prince" actor and rapper , is returning in time and launching a new podcast called "Class of '88."

The podcast focuses on influential hip-hop acts from the unforgettable era of rap music 1988, featuring Queen Latifah, Run-DMC, and even his old partner DJ Jazzy Jeff.

The two were topping charts until 1994 when Will's television career took off and ended their act.

On the day Will won the Oscar for Best Actor, his Hollywood career peaked and plummeted just as quickly when he slapped Chris. This incident resulted in the actor being widely shunned by the film industry, yet reports have suggested that he is keen to return to music - and so far, this podcast is his first foray into doing so.

The National Enquirer reported that according to an industry insider, in the rap world, getting physical with someone who has disrespected your spouse is seen as a symbol of prestige.

It appears that Will hopes to use this opportunity in his journey back into the spotlight, per the insider.

On the other hand, some suggest Will Smith needs to step up his game and alter his approach.

Rapping act Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince were known for their PG-rated lyrics, with long-time partner Will Smith vowing never to drop curses in his verses.
