Brazilian singer Darlyn Morais has died at the age of 28 following his hospitalization due to a spider bite.

Morais' wife, Jhullyenny Lisboa, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement to Brazilian news outlet G1, saying that the singer died from complications caused by the bite. Per the report, the crooner fell ill and developed a reaction after he was bitten by the spider while at his Miranorte home on October 31.

His stepdaughter, 18, also sustained a spider bite and still remains in a medical facility to receive treatment. She is reportedly in a stable condition.

What Happened to Darlyn Morais?

According to Lisboa, Morais suffered from body fatigue following the bite on his face. The bruise that developed afterward also changed in color.

He developed an allergic reaction in the days thereafter, prompting them to finally visit the Palmas General Hospital in Miranorte. He was discharged on Friday, November 3, three days before he succumbed on Monday, November 6.

"The family of Dylan Marais would like to thank you all for your kind words of support at this time of such great pain. To our Eternal Singer, our feeling of gratitude to each one of you... We are grateful once again for the love of all," the family said in a statement translated from Portuguese.

Following the confirmation of his death, his family members, friends and fans paid tribute to him as they expressed their heartbreak after losing the singer too early.

His cousin Wesleya Silva wrote, "He was always surrounded by friends, and it was always a reason to celebrate for him. Always very happy and smiling with everyone around him. Owner of a giant heart, always helping the people around him."

"Most spiders are poisonous and bites shouldn't be taken lightly," one replied to a media outlet's post, while another wrote, "Omg. never knew spiders can be this dangerous. May his soul rest in peace."

Morais embarked on her professional music career when he was 15, playing songs and making tracks based on the forro genre. He also notably performed as a member of a three-member band alongside his brother and a friend.

His family has yet to share funeral and memorial details. His friend Samual Zhytor revealed to G1 that the musician planned a live show in January 2024 before his tragic death.
