Legal action has been taken by R. Kelly while he is still in prison, with a lawsuit filed against the US government, Bureau of Prisons workers, and Tasha K concerning the unauthorized leak of his private information.

TMZ obtained court documents which demonstrate that three B.O.P. agents are being accused of accessing the "Ignition" singer's digital records, such as email messages, telephone calls, and visitor logs, without permission. They are believed to have supplied them to Tasha K for money-making purposes.

Lawyer Jennifer Bonjean and R. Kelly, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, are confident that in allowing a multitude of B.O.P. officers to gain access to sensitive information belonging to Kelly without any legal justification, America has breached its duty of care towards him.

According to official documents, Tasha K was provided with all his private details as part of a deal brokered by federal officials.

Once Tasha had the sensitive material, Kelly's legal representatives claimed that she incited her considerable fanbase to "harass the plaintiff with the use of the stolen information and created chaos in plaintiff's personal life."

This happened before Kelly being convicted of child pornography and enticement charges earlier in 2020, leading to his sentencing of a 20-year prison term.

R. Kelly Guilty of These Charges

In addition to a prior 30-year prison sentence from a case in New York involving racketeering and sex trafficking, he is now serving an additional term of nineteen years that will be served concurrently.

The disruption of R Kelly's privacy has tumultuously affected the singer, leaving him feeling "isolated and fearful of communicating with his attorneys or other third parties," as he dreads that the accessed information may be maliciously shared.

His lawyer noted that this could lead to it being "released to the general public for mass exploitation."

Tasha, whom rap artist Cardi B accused of defamation, refuted any claims against her.

Meanwhile, when questioned about what was being released, he stated that it had to do with personal and family tragedies, matters of the heart, health complications, literacy struggles, and issues in regard to his forthcoming criminal cases.

At first, Kelly was hesitant to voice her accusations from an anonymous source; however, he received an email that eventually provoked her to make a statement.

In January of this year, he had a phone conversation with radio personality Natasha Simon in which these same claims were repeated.

Recalling the events 2019, he stated "All, of a sudden, it felt like reality was closing in on me. There were stories everywhere in the media, and even Tasha K spoke about me. To top all of this off, a search warrant was issued for the B.O.P.'s office's laptop computer, revealing criminal activities of which I did not know."

He concluded, "All of these revelations made it clear why I had to be present at court.
