Court documents revealed a November 15 hearing was held this week to address the situation of Britney Spears and her estranged husband Sam Asghari's divorce coming to a halt.
However, Sam failed to appear in court, thus putting the entire case in jeopardy of being dismissed, as reported by Radar Online.
Last October, Judge Anderson of the Los Angeles Superior Court warned Sam that failure to take the necessary steps, including serving Britney with legal documentation, would lead to the dismissal of his divorce petition.
This week, however, when it came time for a hearing on the case, Sam proved to be nowhere to be found. The court transcripts showed that "the matter was placed off the calendar due to his absence."
It is yet to be seen whether or not the Judge will grant more time to Sam.
As previously reported by the outlet, it was in August that Sam sought out a divorce against Britney.
In his application, he dated July 28th, 2023, as their date of separation and June 9th, 2022 as their wedding day.
It has been reported that before their marriage, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari signed an "ironclad" prenuptial agreement to protect the pop star's wealth.
Insider information indicated that a single payment would be made, not any ongoing support. According to the arrangement, Sam kept all his cars and any presents given during their 7-year relationship.

Britney and Sam immediately hit it off when they met on a music video set back in 2016. Reflecting on this relationship, the singer expressed gratitude for having him by her during difficult times with her family.
Expressing his thoughts, the estranged husband of Britney stated he was "proud" of her. He further declared, "I hope she takes over the world".
Since their break-up earlier this year, both Britney and Sama have not been spotted together.
The "Toxic" singer said, "As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together. 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I'm a little shocked but ..."
"I'm not here to explain why because its honestly nobody's business !!! But, I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly !!!"
