Aaron Spears' family, friends and colleagues honored him during his funeral following his untimely death.

People gathered weeks after Spears died on October 30 to remember the musician's legacy and contribution to the industry. The celebration of life was held at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden Worship Center in Maryland.

Usher Emotional While Remembering Aaron Spears

In a clip obtained by a news outlet, Usher can be seen weeping while speaking about Spears "as an amazing force." He also thanked Musical Director Valdez Brantley for introducing them to each other.

"He was my hero, man," he said before pausing to stop himself from crying. "I couldn't let him know how I felt about him enough, but I hope that he saw it every time I picked up a pair of sticks and I went to drum and he meant that much to me and he will continue to mean that much to me as a friend."

He continued his emotional statement by declaring how much he would always love Spears and have him in his mind all the time.

Amid his heartbreak, he tried to lift up the mood by sharing a hilarious glimpse into their friendship.

The funeral came weeks after Spears' wife, Jessica, released a statement on Instagram confirming his passing.

"Aaron was not only an incredibly accomplished drummer admired by many for his unparalleled talent and passion for music, but he was also a devoted father to our precious son, August," she said. "His love, guidance, and warmth were the pillars of our family, and his absence leaves a void that words cannot describe."

His cause of death remains unknown as of press time, but he was still able to celebrate his birthday on October 26 days before his death.

More Paid Tribute to Aaron Spears

Previously, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber shared separate statements after learning Spears' death.

Grande took to her Instagram Story and expressed how lucky they were to meet and know the drummer.

"I am so honored and thankful that our paths crossed and to have spent so much very special time together. thank you for your utter brilliance, for our laughs, and for your kindness always," she said. "I will miss your hugs. You are so, so loved and will be so very missed."

Bieber also uploaded a video featuring himself and Spears playing music together, calling the drummer "a beautiful man."
