The last four members of BTS will be entering their military service in South Korea in December 2023. RM, V, Jung Kook, and Jimin will join J-Hope, Suga, and Jin in South Korea for their mandatory military service.

With this happening, by January 2024, all members of the Korean supergroup will be on hiatus. Because of this, fans are interested - when will BTS finish their military service?

BTS Enters Military Service

In an announcement by BigHit Entertainment, they revealed that all remaining BTS members have already enlisted for their mandatory South Korean military service.

"We would like to inform our fans that RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook have initiated the military enlistment process," the statement from BigHit reads. "The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties. We will inform you of further updates in due course."

As the group carries on with their mandatory military service, the management asks fans for their continued support of the group until they safely return.

"This coming December ... I'm leaving you for a short while to serve in the military," Billboard chart-topper Jung Kook said in a message to his fans recently. "After I return, I promise that I will be where I always am, on stage - having grown."

Individually, the members of BTS have gone on and created music on their own. Notably, Jimin dropped his "Production Diary" documentary, exploring his process of making his album "Face." Jung Kook released "Golden," V dropped "Layover" and RM's "Indigo" hit streaming and sales last December 2022.

Before them, Suga was the last one to enter the mandatory military service. However, his was different as he entered as a social service agent, an alternative way to serve those who have physical and mental limitations. Suga had shoulder surgery in 2020.

When Will BTS Finish Their Military Service?

In South Korea, all men have to begin their 21-month mandatory military service by their 28th birthday.

All seven members are expected to complete their service by mid-2025 with J-Hope, Jin, and Suga being the first ones to finish theirs because of their earlier enlistment.

Hopefully, BTS' ARMYs will have gotten their first taste of BTS' new sound by late 2025 or early 2026.
