The authorities formally launched a probe into the tragic death of a Taylor Swift fan in Brazil.

Swifties around the globe mourn the sudden death of 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado following a fatal cardiac arrest ahead of the show at the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos stadium in Rio de Janeiro. She received a first-aid treatment at a medical tent after collapsing before being rushed to a medical facility where she was pronounced dead an hour later.

As fans continue to blame the organizers, the country's authorities officially started an investigation to learn the root cause of the tragedy.

An Investigation Into Taylor Swift's Brazil Shows Company Starts

NBC News confirmed that the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro's consumer delegations department started investigating the company's alleged "crime of danger to life or health."

In addition, the Brazilian newspaper Estadão said the authorities would also look into the fans' testimonies about the event. For what it's worth, attendees of the same Brazil stop revealed that the organizers prohibited them from bringing bottled water despite the temperature on that day.

Temperatures soared 102 degrees Fahrenheit on the day Benevides Machado died.

The department will reportedly call the event organizers to testify amid the authorities' investigation of the facts.

The fan's father previously spoke to the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo and declared that someone should be held responsible for what happened.

"I want it to be found out whether they were, in fact prohibited from bringing water, whether there was negligence in providing assistance," he said. "I know that the singer was handing out water to her fans, and that is absurd for an event of this size. Nothing will bring my daughter back, but I hope that, if negligence is confirmed, someone will be punished, so that this doesn't happen to anyone else."

After the tragedy, the "Anti-Hero" singer took to Instagram Story to express how shattered her heart was by the fan's death.

"I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this," she continued. "There's very little information I have other than the fact she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young."

Swift added that it was the last thing she ever thought when they decided to take her Eras Tour to Brazil. She ensured that her fans were all okay by pausing her performance and asking for water to be brought and given to her fans.
