Chad Allan, popularly known for being one of the most successful musicians in Canada as well as being a member of the band The Guess Who, has passed away at the age of 80.

As of this writing, his cause of death remains mysterious as it was not stated in the reports published after his passing, but it was noted that he died on November 20, 2023.

According to CBC, Allan was not only talented in the field of music but also in hosting as he became one of the hosts of the show "Let's Go."

Born Allan Peter Stanley Kowbel in Winnipeg, Canada, the singer was considered a multi-instrumentalist as he was knowledgeable of playing more than one instrument.

He was so talented that the government inducted him into the Order of Manitoba eight years ago. The reason why he received such a big honor was because of his contribution to Canadian music.

Chad Allan Early Days as a Musician

His first band was the lead singer of Allan and the Silverstones, he fronted the group when he was still in college at Miles MacDonell Collegiate in 1958.

Some of the members of the group were Jim Kale, Randy Bachman, Bob Ashley, and Garry Peterson, all of them later had successful careers within the Canadian music scene.

His stage name, Chad Allan, originated from his inspiration band, the Chad Mitchell Trio.

The band later decided to change its name to The Guess Who in 1965, along with its members Garry Peterson, Greg Smith, Derek Sharp, Teddy Andreadis, Michael Staertow, and Garry Peterson.

Chad Allan Successful Career

In 2015, the Canadian government inducted him into the Order of Manitoba, thanks to his contribution to the music scene and his efforts in bands such as the Bachman-Turner Overdrive and his own band, The Guess Who.

The Guess Who went on to release some of the most popular albums such as "Canned Wheat," "American Woman," "So Long, Bannatyne," "Live at the Paramount," and many more.

Although his cause of death was still unclear, it was noted that he suffered from a serious stroke in August 2017 and was hospitalized.

At the time, the musician was said to be responding and his publicist rooted for him to get through his health problems at the time.
