Red Hot Chili Peppers were set to take the stage to perform for a special holiday show, but they recently announced that they will pull out from the lineup because one member got injured.

According to Loudwire, the legendary rock band was supposed to play at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas this weekend, December 9, 2023, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California.

In a statement shared on their social media accounts, the band explained: "It is with deep regret that we will not be able to perform this weekend at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas. A band member was injured, preventing us from being able to perform for at least 6 weeks."

As of this writing, the band never shared more details on which member got injured and if it was serious.

Even though they couldn't make it this time, they promised fans they will be present on the "Almost Acoustic Christmas Encore" which will be held at the same venue on March 2, 2024.

Red Hot Chili Peppers might not make it to this Saturday's holiday show, but there are other musicians who will perform as part of the event.

Other music acts in the lineup include Bleachers, Portugal. The Man, The Offspring, Garbage, Bakar, The Beaches, Lovejoy, and Cannons.

This concert will be for a good cause as proceeds will be donated to Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center and Para Los Niños.

For those who wanted to get a refund, fans may contact the Ticketmaster fan support through their website, but the deadline will only be until December 7, 2023, at 4 p.m. PT. If ever the passes were not refunded, it will still be valid for the show.

In other updates, the iconic group released two albums in 2022 titled "Return of the Dream Canteen" and "Unlimited Love."

Although they will miss the show, they will still continue their tour this 2024 which will begin at the Thunder Valley in Lincoln, California, on February 17.

The band will be touring along with their returning guitarist, John Frusciante.
