Boygenius just released their most-recent album titled "The Record" and Dave Grohl was supposed to be one of the collaborators for a song, but it never happened because of a hilarious reason.

In the world of music, working with legendary musicians such as the Foo Fighters frontman is a dream come true for newer artists, so the all female band, consisting of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus, looked forward to their recording session.

However, their supposed collaboration didn't make the final cut as Grohl had slept through their recording session.

Dave Grohl Almost Collaborated with Boygenius

In an interview with NME, the three musicians revealed that they have a friend who knows and have worked with Dave Grohl in the past during one of his tours.

They decided to meet at a studio one day, but it was a missed connection for all of them as it never happened in the first place.

"There was this missed connection where Dave was actually going to come to the studio and play," Phoebe Bridgers said. (via Uproxx)

They noted that Grohl was "so game" to do a recording, but it never happened because he "slept through" it.

"I just want to stay game the way that he is," Lucy Dacus added.

Dave Grohl was able to make up for his initial mistake that's why he performed with Boygenius on Halloween when he made a surprise appearance.

At the time, the group and the legendary musician took the stage of the Hollywood Bowl to perform the track "Satanist" which the outlet noted was their supposed collaboration in the studio.

Dave Grohl's Support for Phoebe Bridgers

Per the outlet, Dave Grohl has been supporting one of Boygenius' members, Phoebe Bridgers, throughout the years.

Two years ago, the singer took the stage of "Saturday Night Live" where she smashed a guitar during her performance. However, she received negative reactions from online users. Following this, Grohl defended her.

Later on, both of them supported Billie Eilish at her concert at the Kia Forum where they first met in person.

In other updates, Foo Fighters will perform at their series of concerts starting this January 2024. Check out their official website for more details.

Boygenius' new album, "The Record," is now available for streaming online.
