Tommy Lee is one of the most controversial figures in the rock scene for decades. From their infamous sex tape, his racist allegations, riot instigation, and even engaging in a melee with Kid Rock.
Now, a woman whom he sexually assaulted in 2003 has come forward and filed a lawsuit against him.
Tommy Lee Sexual Assault Case
According to legal documents obtained by People Magazine, Tommy Lee has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman, named Jane Doe temporarily, in February 2023.
The location of the assault apparently took place in a helicopter ride from San Diego to Van Nuys, California. She claimed to be lured under "false pretenses" by Tommy Lee's personal helicopter driver, David Martz.
Jane Doe requests damages for gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, sexual assault, and negligence. She demands for a jury trial against Tommy Lee.

Tommy Lee Sexual Assault Case Explained
According to the complaint filed by Jane Doe, she was apparently invited to the flight by Martz, not knowing that Lee would be present on the ride.
Jane Doe's approval of the invitation was the result of months of their familiarity while she worked as a bank teller who tended to Martz's official businesses. The two then became friends around 2001 to 2002.
In mid-2002, Martz began inviting Jane Doe on a ride in his helicopter but she was hesitant because she had never ridden one before. She perceived the invite as a "friendly gesture" and finally agreed when she was invited in January 2003 to go on a short tour in February.
Their lunch plans on the day of the tour were canceled to the last minute. Jane Doe then recalled arriving at the hangar - seeing Tommy Lee.
Martz informed her that he would only be taking Lee to Van Nuys for a trip that wouldn't take any longer than 40 minutes - eventually commanding Doe to board the helicopter.
When they're on board, Lee and Martz began consuming alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine, instructing Jane Doe to "relax."
Doe was then pushed to sit on Lee's lap "so that she would not miss the view," feeling "immense pressure" to join the two. In a matter of minutes, Lee began "groping and kissing" her.
"Plaintiff attempted to pull away from Lee, but he only became more forceful" and the singer began "penetrating her with his fingers, and attempting to force her to perform oral copulation."
