James Morrison's longtime partner, Gill Catchpole, has been found dead at the family home. She was 45.

Multiple media outlets reported Catchpole's sudden death, citing police sources. Morrison and his late partner shared two daughters: Elsie and Ada.

What Happened to James Morrison's Partner Gill Catchpole?

The Gloucestershire Constabulary released a statement confirming Catchpole was found dead at her home in Whitminster, Gloucestershire, on Friday, January 5. Police reportedly responded to the address, where they found the body of a woman in her 40s, after receiving a call regarding concerns for a resident's welfare.

The other details of the phone call have yet to be disclosed to the public, but the BBC and The Sun clarified that her death was not suspicious and no foul play was involved. A family friend disclosed a similar sentiment to the latter news outlet.

"James is devastated and is being supported by his family," the family friend said. "He is holding it together for their girls but has asked for the family to be left alone to grieve in private."

Meanwhile, village residents expressed their shock after losing the "lovely woman" who had a beautiful family.

Days before Catchpole's death, she appeared to be looking for a new home in Whitminster.

A representative for Morrison and the family has not spoken up regarding the loss. However, it is worth noting that Marrison told the Irish Mirror in 2019 that his partner's kidneys only worked at 35 percent and that she nearly died while giving birth to their younger daughter.

James Morrison and Gill Catchpole's Relationship

Morrison and Catchpole immediately felt the spark when they met as soon as she moved into his mother's home as a lodger when he was 17. She was with her then-boyfriend at that time.

"It wasn't the easiest start, but I just still see it as a really romantic thing. I'm not very romantic. I'm not like: 'I love romance!' But I do find certain things romantic and the fact that we met each other the way we did. It's like a little fairy tale or something!" he told "White Wine Question Time" podcast.

Their relationship bloomed three months after Catchpole's boyfriend moved out following their breakup.

The "You Give Me Something" singer has lost four people in the family. His father, Paul, died in 2010. His older brother, Alexis, and nephew Callum passed away a year apart afterward.
