During a recent interview with Buzzfeed, former Lizzie McGuire star and occasional pop singer Hilary Duff finally addressed the series of tweets sent out by her ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter over the last few months, in which the early '00s pop star confessed to the world that he's still in love with her 11 years after the two broke up.

"I was not expecting this question," Duff admits when asked how she feels about Carter's persistent tweeting.

"He does, I keep seeing that, that he keeps doing that. I don't know how I feel. I mean, that was so long ago, and obviously I'm still married and I have a baby now, and we kind of just...don't know each other...so...yeah."

Carter began tweeting about Duff back in March in response to the news that Duff was separating from her husband, hockey player Mike Comrie. Here's the first tweet he sent out:

When a fan asked if he's referring to Duff, Carter replied, "Sure am!" and sent out this tweet:

Duff and Comrie began dating in 2007 and married in 2010. Back in January, the two announced that they would be separating, though they haven't yet filed for divorce. Together they have a two year-old son Luca.

Duff's most recent album, Dignity, was released back in 2007. Carter's most recent album Another Earthquake! was released all the way back in 2002.
