Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema has reached a significant milestone in his career, claiming the top spot on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart with the chart-topping collaboration "Bubalu," alongside Colombian artist Feid. This achievement marks Rema's inaugural appearance on the Latin Airplay chart, solidifying his global impact and the genre-blending nature of his musical prowess.

The Spanglish-infused "Bubalu" represents Rema's first foray into singing in Spanish, adding an extra layer of cultural fusion to the track. Released as the fourth single from Feid's Mor No Le Temas a La Oscuridad, which soared to No. 4 on the Top Latin Albums chart in October, the song has become a chart-topping phenomenon.

Rema made his debut on a Billboard Latin chart in October when "Bubalu" entered the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart at No. 39. Since then, the infectious Afrobeats rhythms of "Bubalu" have captivated listeners, peaking at No. 28 on the chart dated Jan. 6.

"Bubalu" stands out not only for its vibrant sound but also for its impressive performance on the Latin Airplay tally. The track experienced a notable 14% surge in audience impressions, accumulating 10.8 million in the U.S. during the tracking week of Dec. 29 to Jan. 4, according to Luminate.

Feid, already a seasoned player in the Latin music scene, adds another feather to his cap with "Bubalu," achieving his fifth No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart. The collaboration with Rema follows a string of successful chart-toppers, including hits with J Balvin, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Sech, Justin Quiles, Ozuna, Yandel, and Sean Paul.

The momentum of "Bubalu" doesn't stop there, as the track maintains its reign on Latin Rhythm Airplay for a fourth consecutive week, securing the coveted Greatest Gainer honors. Additionally, the single ascends on the Hot Latin Songs chart, making a noteworthy jump from 28 to 25. This chart success underscores the song's widespread popularity, blending airplay, streaming activity, and digital sales.

As Rema's star continues to rise in the Latin music arena, "Bubalu" serves as a testament to the genre's evolving landscape, embracing diverse influences and international collaborations that resonate with audiences worldwide.
