Lauren Duski is mourning following the sudden death of her mother, Janis.

"The Voice" season 12 runner-up broke her silence after her mom's death, which was reported by several media outlets.

What Happened to Lauren Duski's Mother?

The Tuscarora Township Police Department told the New York Post they found a car "sitting on the edge of the roadway with a female in the driver's seat slumped over" in Indian River, Mich., on Friday. The person inside the vehicle, who was later identified as Duski's mother, reportedly had a gunshot wound to the chest.

Paramedics were sent to the location but were unable to find a pulse on Janis or revive her.

Authorities added that one round was used in the handgun found inside the car.

While the probe remains underway, police said it appears to be suicide.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Duski emotionally bid a goodbye to her "best friend and hero."

"My mom was the greatest human I've ever known," she said. "There was no one who loved harder. She offered her entire being - heart and soul to everyone she encountered and always held up the mirror to remind you of how wonderful and special you were."

She honored her mother's accomplishments, including her work as a captain in the U.S. Air Force and the contributions she provided to give oral health care to disabled and homeless veterans through the Wolverine Patriot Project.

The musician added that she was originally not planning to share anything but reportedly did so to remind everyone to talk to one another, alluding to her mother's suspected suicide.

Duski also told everyone struggling not to be ashamed of themselves and their mental health.

She ended her post by informing everyone to "save a generation and beyond" through love and do it in "every chance you get."

"I love you, mom. Forever. May you rest in glorious peace," the message went on.
