Jesy Nelson left Little Mix in December 2020, citing mental health struggles, but when she tried to launch her solo music career, some of the girl group's fans felt betrayed and then furious.

According to reports, the singer wants to finally address her exit from Little Mix in hopes of repairing her image.

"Jesy's solo career has been a difficult road to navigate," a source told The Sun about the singer's reasons to release a documentary. "Last year, she had to put the breaks on her album and now she is preparing to forge a fresh path."

"The documentary could help her set the records straight and allow people to see what it has been like for her," the added.

The news, however, was met with mixed reactions. Some were supportive of Nelson and her attempts at trying to start anew, while others were against the documentary.

"This is scary and good at the same time!" A fan wrote.

"Is she seriously going to play the victim card again for sympathy I can't. If she is able to own up and completely admit what she did it's a different story but if she starts making excuses I'm so done."

"She said she dont want her name linked to Little Mix... So why she never stops talking on it??? Leigh dropped a book that she could tell a lot, but she didn't."

"But why not just leave it at that and move on? If you wanna do your solo stuff why bring up Little Mix and that drama again?"

Jesy Nelson's The 'Odd One Out'

This is hardly the first time Nelson has come out to share her side of the story about her split from Little Mix or how she was treated after leaving the group.

"When you've never had any issues with your face and then realise people are saying these things about you... " the singer said. "You think if everybody is saying it, it must be true."

As per the singer, even before she left, the singer was already grappling with online bullying from netizens.

"The first thing I read about myself was, 'Is it me or does that girl look disabled?' The next one said she really looks like a rat. And the next one was, 'God her face looks deformed,'" Nelson recalled.

The singer then said that she no longer cares about the hate she receives: "Then I've got one on my leg that says 'A tiger never loses sleep over the opinion of sheep.' It basically means I couldn't give a shit about what people think about me any more. If you don't like me, then ta-ta."

Nelson was a member of Little Mix, a girl group formed in "The X Factor" in 2011; the group consists of Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

Little Mix is currently on hiatus so the remaining three members can pursue their solo careers, and so far, only Pinnock has released an album.
