Selena Gomez will be reprising her role as Alex Russo in the Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place" reboot, is that why she said she will be releasing one last album?

"We're Back," the "Lose You to Love Me" singer simply wrote in an Instagram Story she uploaded with a picture of herself as Alex Russo, a young witch in the Disney Channel series, next to David Henrie, who plays Justin Russo, Alex's sibling.

According to reports, the upcoming "Wizards of Waverly Place" reboot will be the sequel to the 2007 series, and it will center around Justin's life and his attempts at living "a normal human life with his wife and two sons."

"But he gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard in need of training shows up at his door... and Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World," Deadline notes.

Selena Gomez Chooses Acting Over Singing

Gomez has been away from the music scene for quite some time; the last release she dropped was "Rare" in 2020, and since then, she has been working on different ventures like her makeup brand Rare Beauty, her cooking show "Selena + Chef," and the new comedy series "Only Murders in the Building."

"You're right, but I am going to want to chill because I'm tired," Gomez admitted in one of her interviews.

According to reports, she also revealed that she plans to retire from music and pursue acting full-time.

"I have one more album in me," she said; for months now, Gomez has been teasing an upcoming album, however, she did not explain whether the new album will be her last.
