2024 Oscars Nominees: Best Original Song

Diane Warren has earned her seventh consecutive nomination in the said category, with "The Fire Inside" from the movie "Flamin' Hot."

As expected, "Barbie" has logged two of its most campaigned songs on this year's ballot of nominees. Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt's Ken ballad "I'm Just Ken," snagged a nomination for Best Original Song, along with the category frontrunner "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and FINNEAS.

Meanwhile, Jon Batiste became a two-time Academy Award nominee with "It Never Went Away" from "American Symphony." He previously won for Best Original Score at the 2020 Academy Awards for "Soul."

The biggest surprise nomination was "Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)" from "Killers of the Flower Moon" by Scott George.

The Academy Award for Best Original Song was won by M. M. Keeravani and Chandrabose last year for "Naatu Naatu" from "RRR."

2024 Oscars Nominees: Best Original Score

On the other hand, three of the 2024 Oscar nominees for Best Original Score are highly predicted while the remaining two are shockers.

Robbie Robertson's score for "Killers of the Flower Moon," Ludwig Göransson's score for "Oppenheimer," and Jerskin Fendrix's score for "Poor Things" were shoo-in nominees for the said category as they were all nominated for Golden Globes and Critics Choice this year - Göransson won both and is most likely to win the Academy Award too.

Meanwhile, Laura Karpman was nominated for "American Fiction" and John Williams for "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" - both were largely snubbed by various award-giving bodies this year.

2024 Oscars Nominees: Best Sound

Bradley Cooper's "Maestro" was nominated for Best Song, crediting Richard King, Steven A. Morrow, Tom Ozanich, Jason Ruder, and Dean Zupancic for its masterful mixing.

Ian Voigt, Erik Aadahl, Ethan Van der Ryn, Tom Ozanich, and Dean Zupancic were all nominated for their work in "The Creator." Meanwhile, Chris Munro, James H. Mather, Chris Burdon, and Mark Taylor received a nod for their work on "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One."

"The Zone of Interest's" Johnnie Burn and Tarn Willers were also nominated along with "Oppenheimer's" Willie Burton, Richard King, Kevin O'Connell, and Gary A. Rizzo also got a nod.
