Rostam Batmanglij Quits Vampire Weekend on Twitter, Will Still Write Songs with Ezra Koenig
Rostam Batmanglij, one of the founding members of the popular indie band Vampire Weekend with college friend Ezra Koenig, has announced that he is no longer in the band. He isn't totally quitting the group, though, which he explained more in detail in a Twitter post, which, like the songs he's helped write over the years, caters to the millennial fans that he has. You'll see what we mean. -

In what had been a great year for feline music, Run The Jewels continue to push the 2015 cat-themed reimagining of their 2014 critically acclaimed LP Run The Jewels 2. Filled with cat sounds, Meow The Jewels became treasure for fans and has spawned some very interesting music videos along the way. The new one for "Meowpurrdy" appears to have done the impossible - make a cat video disturbing. -
Neil DeGrasse Tyson's Nephew Responds To B.o.B. Diss Track "Flatline' With 'Flat To Fact'
What started out as just an odd spout of Tweets coming from the fingers of B.o.B. has turned into quite possibly the greatest rap beef ever. B.o.B. spouted out a whole host of conspiracy theory tweets about the earth apparently being flat and Neil deGrasse Tyson clapped back with some facts of his own. Then B.o.B. decided that he wanted to take things to the next level with an odd diss track "Flatline" with an anti-Semitic twist. The scientist has recruited his nephew to clap back over Drake's "Back To Back" beat in the freshly titled "Flat To Fact." -

Wolfgang Gartner has been very quiet over the past two years, only releasing a handful of songs and pulling back his tour dates to a very low number compared to some of his contemporaries who do close to 200 gigs a year. There has been rumblings of a new album for a few months, but three weeks ago he at last announced that the LP would be released this Friday, Jan. 29. Now he has officially unveiled the complete tracklist and title for the Weekend In America follow-up, 10 Ways To Steal Home Plate. -
SXSW 2016: David Bowie Producer Tony Visconti to Deliver Opening Keynote Address
SXSW 2016 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the grass roots to large scale festival. Tony Visconti, who was the mastermind behind some of fallen legend David Bowie's most lasting albums, including his last, Blackstar, has just been confirmed as opening keynote speaker. Perhaps partly in honor of Bowie, Visconti is slated to deliver to deliver the opening address on the music portion of the festival, which stretches a week for the festival's 30th anniversary. Other portions of SXSW include film and technology. -

Things appear to be looking a little better for the beleaguered and once might dance music conglomerate SFX Entertainment that has recently been teetering on a potential bankruptcy. SFX has settled its lawsuit, which alleged that the current Chairman and CEO Robert Silllerman stole the idea behind the company. -
Kanye West New Album 'Swish' to Premiere with Live Performance Screened in Theatres
Kanye West’s upcoming album, 'Swish,' has been highly anticipated and the rapper just announced that he will premiere the album with a live performance able to be screened in theaters across the country. It was just confirmed as the “world premiere of the album 'Swish' in it’s entirety,” and will be showing in theaters by 4 PM Eastern time on Feb. 11. The screening will show a live performance of Swish at Madison Square Garden. -

Flo Rida Loses Rap Battle with Wrestler Bo Dallas on WWE Raw [WATCH VIDEO]
Flo Rida is a professional rapper. WWE wrestler Bo Dallas is not. He is an athlete. On this week's Monday Night Raw professional wrestling event, everything we knew about both of these men changed forever when they took part in a rap battle in the middle of the ring. Rida was in attendance in Miami as it was announced that his song, "My House," was named the official song for WrestleMania. The wrestling group known as the Social Outcasts, which includes Dallas, then called Rida into the ring to challenge him at his own game. Flo Rida lost, you guys!
