    Last night, Drake stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, down the hall of Rockefeller Center from the Saturday Night Live set, where he is currently prepping for his gig pulling double duty as both host and musical guest this week.

    Music Times reported as the new year began that digital music sales had decreased for the first time ever in the United States...a fairly dire report. The good news however is that digital sales are up for our favorite neighbor up north, Canada.

    Forbes magazine has released its list of 30 Under 30 musicians for this year (as well as lists of influential young people in a variety of categories). Topping this year's list was Bruno Mars thanks to his 18 Grammy nominations and his upcoming Super Bowl half-time show.

    The posthumous Aaliyah record that has been rumored since 2012 is no longer happening, according to Noah "40" Shebib. In an interview with Vibe, he revealed that he has officially left the project.

    Tension has been high this year between Drake and Kendrick Lamar after the infamous "Control" verse rocked the hip-hop world. Without any real face-to-face conflict, we've seen Drake express his feelings on Lamar with mostly passive aggressive statements. Now, in response to an interview with Vibe Magazine, Drake has actually given Lamar some props on his debut album.

    Drake isn't the only Young Money artist who gets to drop a new track today (Dec. 30). On the same day the Drizzy dropped his New Year's 2014 single "Trophies," his labelmate Nicki Minaj released a new track of her own. She took to her official website, MyPinkFriday.com, and posted a remix of "Boss Ass Bitch" via SoundCloud.

    Pulling double-duty on Saturday Night Live has become a trend for artists who can both sing and act. Following Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, Drake will be the next in line to serve both SNL roles simultaneously. The announcement was made on this weekend's show that Drake will take over the January 18, 2014 episode.

    Last night Drake and Kanye West hit a Yeezus afterparty together, where they rapped to each other's songs. West donning a Toronto hockey jersey, swung from the ceiling at one point as "Blood on the Leaves" played. All of this was well documented on social media thanks to the dozens of people holding up their iPhones.
