  • Sónar '15: Skrillex, FKA twigs, Flying Lotus, Die Antwoord Added

Sónar Festival just got a lot bigger with a second batch of artists that have been added to its 2015 lineup. The legendary Barcelona, Spain-based festival has added 32 names to its roster of artists, and it did not skimp on the acts. Sticking to the mission of keeping away from your typical commercial acts, Sónar added names like Jamie xx, Maya Jane Coles, Die Antwoord, Flying Lotus and FKA twigs to the roster. Not afraid to push boundaries, Sónar has tabbed Skrillex as one of its Phase 2 headliners, which caused quite a stir the first time around, but now not many will raise a fuss this time because hating on Skrillex has largely gone out of style.

  • Flying Lotus Shares 'Coronus, the Terminator' Music Vid [WATCH]

Electronic artist Flying Lotus has shared the haunting music video for his song "Coronus, the Terminator," which you can check out below. Directed by Young Replicant, the clip stars Flying Lotus, among other people, as some sort of ghostly figure who witnesses a man's startlingly violent death. It is creepy stuff, but it is also beautiful in the strangest way. "Coronus, the Terminator" is the third music video to be shared from Flying Lotus's latest album "You're Dead!," following the videos for "Ready Err Not" and "Never Catch Me" featuring Kendrick Lamar. It is one of the rare songs in which Flying Lotus sings lead, rather than collaborating with a singer or rapper. "For me, 'Coronus' is one of the most important moments on 'You're Dead!' and holds ideas I'm planning to explore in my future work," Flying Lotus said of the song in a press release. "I'm happy that the visual encapsulates the meaning of the record and this ambition." You can check out Flying Lotus's "Coronus, the Terminator" music video here:

  • Flying Lotus Shares Doom Collaboration 'Masquatch' From 'Grand Theft Auto V' [LISTEN]

Just yesterday, experimental hip-hop producer Flying Lotus shared a new track from the upcoming re-release of Grand Theft Auto V called "Medication Meditation," featuring Krayzie Bone. Today, FlyLo is back with "Masquatch," another weird yet incredible song from the soundtrack, featuring underground hip-hop visionary DOOM (a.k.a. MF DOOM, a.k.a. Viktor Vaughn, a.k.a. King Geedorah). The track's extremely brief running time (it comes it under two minutes) is reminiscent of DOOM's classic Madlib collaboration Madvillain, and its abstract, hookless production wouldn't sound out of place on their Madvillainy LP.
  • Flying Lotus Shares New Song 'Medication Meditation' Feat. Krayzie Bone from 'GTA 5' [LISTEN]

Yesterday, Nov. 18, saw the re-release of "Grand Theft Auto V" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and among its many new features are 162 new songs across its 17 fictional radio stations. Today, experimental hip-hop producer Flying Lotus shared one of his contributions to the game's new soundtrack, a moody and intense track titled "Medication Meditation" featuring Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, which you can check out below but the artwork above. The track is a stark difference from FlyLo's most recent album "You're Dead!" Instead of being highly complex and jazz-inflected, this is much more traditionally hip-hop, in no small part due to Krayzie Bone's wildly energetic verses. Being a Flying Lotus track, however, it still does not sound anything like your typical 2014 hip-hop single.
