    Taylor Swift's 1989 tour still has a way to go, which means there are endless possibilities concerning what musical acts and star power she'll bring to the forefront of her stage. The country-gone-pop singer initially suffered some backlash as she made the genre jump but while in Indianapolis Wednesday night, the "Bad Blood" singer returned to her country roots by presenting The Band Perry for a rendition of "If I Die Young."

    The Band Perry recently opened up about their new album, the follow-up to 2013's "Pioneer." The siblings are bringing in up-and-coming songwriter Audra Mae to help out on the record. Mae is known for writing Miranda Lambert's tune "Little Red Wagon." She also collaborated with The Forest Rangers a few times for FX's "Sons of Anarchy" in addition to her solo material. According to Taste of Country, Kimberly Perry called into iHeartRadio's Electric Barnyard with Broadway show to talk about the progress. "[It's] goin' great, you know," she said. "We're slowly but surely recording band here in the Band Perry. I'd say we have about half of it done. It'll definitely — you guys will have new music certainly in the first half of 2015." The trio is especially excited to co-write tunes with Mae. "We have interesting things happening and, you know, the co-writes are one thing that we're really excited about as well," Kimberly added. "A new girl that's been here in Nashville writing, her name is Audra Mae, she's a very spirited young lady. So we've just made a lot of new writing friendships and can't wait for you guys to hear it."

    The Band Perry performed a moving tribute to Glen Campbell at this year's CMAs with their cover of "Gentle on My Mind." The family trio recorded the song for a new documentary about the Rhinestone Cowboy titled "Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me," which highlights the iconic singer's farewell tour and battle with Alzheimer's disease. In the video for the song, The Band Perry puts together some visuals of wandering to accompany Campbell's road tune, "Rolling Stone" notes. After a young man decides to leave his girlfriend behind and explore the desert, the country trio starts playing. "And it's knowing I'm not shackled / By forgotten words and bonds / And the ink stains that are dried upon some line," Kimberly Perry sings while brother Neil plucks a banjo. "That keeps you in the backroads / By the rivers of my memory / That keeps you ever gentle on my mind."

  • Eric Church Joins Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande; 'Outsiders' Goes Platinum

    Move over, Jason Aldean, because Eric Church is joining the platinum party. The singer recently became the second country artist to reach the 1-million mark for albums sold in 2014 with "The Outsiders." Church is only the fifth artist this year to hit the milestone. Aldean, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Sam Smith were all certified platinum previously and the soundtrack for Disney's "Frozen" received the honor as well. As Church's website notes, "The Outsiders," released Feb. 11, sold 288,000 copies in its first week. It went straight to No. 1 on the "Billboard" 200 and Top Country Albums charts. Church received four Grammy nods, including Country Album of the Year, Country Song of the Year, Country Solo Performance of the Year and Country Group/Duo of the Year. The Outsiders also won the Album of the Year honor at the inaugural American Country Countdown Awards recently. He stressed the importance of albums during his acceptance speech.

    Country star Keith Urban has been announced as one of the headliners of Country Jam 2015, "Taste of Country" reports, where he will be joining fellow superstars Tim McGraw and The Band Perry. The annual festival takes place at the Jam Ranch outside Grand Junction, Colorado, and will run next year from June 18 to 21. So far, just the three headliners have been announced, though more artists will be added soon.
