• Riot Police Called on YG, Ty Dolla $ign Sydney Concert

    Australia Day got a little out of hand for a few people in Sydney Monday night, Jan. 26. Ty Dolla $ign and YG were performing the fourth show in Sydney on their joint Australia-New Zealand, five-date concert tour when an incident allegedly occurred that led to an ugly brawl outside the venue. Taking place on Australia Day, the show at the Enmore Theatre should have been filled with patriotic cheer and good times, but instead the riot police had to be called into to break up a fight.

    Though his long-awaited album "The Art of Hustle" does not seem to be dropping anytime soon, Memphis rapper Yo Gotti is giving us a new mixtape instead, titled "Concealed" — that is the cover art above. According to "The Fader," the tape will be hosted by DJ Drama and is set to drop at any moment this week, but before it does, Gotti has shared one of its songs "Real Rap" featuring Jadakiss, which you can check out below. The track features some refreshingly soulful and hard-hitting production from The Youngstars, while Gotti and Jadakiss delivered some verses with their signature raspy flows.   • Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign Share Trippy New Song 'Refresh/Say No More' [LISTEN]

    Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign have shared a trippy new collaborative track titled "Refresh/Say No More," which you can check out below. Being almost nine minutes long, this is really two tracks in one, and if the cover art is any indication (which you can check out up above), this is some really spacy, psychedelic stuff, even moreso than Wiz usually gets. It's not clear who the producer is on this track, though the Soundcloud page says it was "engineered" by Drew Drucker and Ricky P, so maybe they should be getting the credit for this one.

  • Fans Protest Grammy Nods for Excluding YG [PHOTOS]

    Saturday afternoon, Jan. 3, saw quite an interesting assortment of protest signs, such as "Bruh!" and "#Bicketing," as fans of YG assembled at the Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles. The protestors assembled to support YG as he was wronged out of a Grammy nomination, as the young rapper tweeted, "I ain't tell em do this doe." YG acknowledged that he had nothing to do with organizing the group of loyal fans but was elated to support the protest motives on Twitter. The dedicated group of fans assembled at the Grammy Museum, and their protest effort led to them being kicked out of the museum, as well as garnishing attention online. YG, the rapper from Compton, California, has vocalized his opinion on his lack of a Grammy nod several times, including with an interview on Big Boy's Neighborhood. YG made a case for himself, stating that the reason he was not nominated had to due with his background. "I think it has to do with me being from the streets, and representing what I represent," he told Big Boy's Neighborhood. His debut album, "My Krazy Life," saw its fair share of support and critical acclaim, but it still was not enough for a Grammy nomination. YG stated in the interview that he felt his album was better than other nominations in the Best Rap Album category, such as Eminem and Iggy Azalea.

    It seems as though having a beef with someone is more common then not in many music circles. A new one seems to start every day and can linger on for months, sometimes years. It is far easier to get in contact with someone you may or may not know with social media at your fingertips by just Tweeting at the person you have a problem with. Even with all of the temptation to start beefs and keep them going, sometimes differences get settled and that is what DJ Mustard and YG managed to do on Instagram.

    Detroit R&B singer, Maejor, has shared the music video for his new single, "Get You Alone" featuring Jeremih, which you can check out here. The video is pretty straightforward with Maejor singing the song near a hot tub while girls in bikinis smear glow in the dark paint over his body. Jeremih makes an appearance in the song's second half (it actually comes off like a completely different song entirely, which is pretty cool), singing/rapping about being "a fat kid for that fat ass," so you know this guy's a sweetheart.

  • Rich Homie Quan, Yo Gotti Appear on SBOE's 'Better Than Them' [LISTEN]

    Queens hip-hop group SBOE — Slow Bucks Over Everything — have shared a new track titled "Better Than Them," featuring guest appearances by Rich Homie Quan, Yo Gotti and Boosie Badazz, which you can check out below. According to "Hot New Hip-Hop," this track originally appeared earlier this year on an SBOE mixtape, only without the guest spots from Quan, Gotti and Boosie, so this seems like a deliberate attempt to turn this into a hit. The hook is decent enough, so it might actually work — though the "Scarface" sample at the beginning is almost laughably clichéd at this point in the history of hip-hop.   • YG & DJ Mustard Are Beefing On Instagram

    Apparently YG and DJ Mustard did not get the message about being kind during the holidays. The rapper and producer are now sending jabs back and forth on Instagram over purported payments that DJ Mustard alleges he never received for YG's debut album My Krazy Life. DJ Mustard executive produced the album that was released in March. YG posted an expletive-laden comment on a now deleted DJ Mustard post rebuffing those claims, making his own claims of not being paid for Mustard's recent album and the two have been going back and forth since then.

  • Killer Mike, Young Thug, 34 Others Featured On 42-Minute Track "The Rap Monument" [WATCH]

    Have you ever listened to a rap song and found yourself wishing that it was about 40 minutes longer and had a thousand guest verses? If you have, then you're in luck, because Noisey has released its massive, Hudson Mohawke-produced "The Rap Monument," which features 36 rappers doing what they do best (rapping) for 42 minutes, more than twice as long as Eminem's 16-minute "Detroit vs. Everybody" remix. If you'd like some context, it's about two minutes longer than the entirety of Illmatic.

    Compton rapper YG has shared the music video for his recent single "2015 Flow," which you can check out below. The refreshingly minimalist video features YG in a dark room with red and black walls, simply rapping to the camera in a single, unbroken take. As the camera gradually zooms back, it is revealed that DJ Mustard, the track's producer, is sitting on a couch throwing cash around — because this is a rap video, after all.   • Lil Wayne, Big Sean, More Drop Verses In DJ Mustard's "Face Down" Lyric Video [WATCH]

    Hip-hop producer DJ Mustard has shared the lyric video for his track "Face Down," featuring Lil Wayne, Big Sean, YG, and Lil Boosie, which you can check out below. The video basically shifts back and forth between two background images: a silhouette of a pole-dancing stripper for the chorus (of course) and a ton of neon-lit hundred dollar bills floating through space for the verses (of course). As for the lyrics themselves, let's just say that these aren't exactly the type of lyrics that deserve any extra attention, but here we are.
