It's been nearly two years since Sabrina Carpenter released an album and fans have been waiting for her to drop new music. More recently, the singer finally teased her supporters about her next project; is it coming out soon?

In a conversation with actress Maya Hawke for Interview Magazine, the "Feather" hitmaker shared her feelings about writing music, saying she's more free and more excited because it came to her mind that "genre isn't necessarily the most important thing."

Carpenter further explained that songwriting is more about being honest, authentic, and whatever a person gravitate towards.

For her last album "Emails I Can't Sent," which was released in 2022, the singer said there were a lot of genres there and she wanted to stick to that formula of writing music in the future.

Later in their conversation, Hawke asked the question, "are you working on another album?" to which Carpenter simply replied with, "I am."

In other parts of the interview, the singer shared details about her previous album after the actress brought up that when she listened to the record, she felt like Carpenter "plunge 1,000 feet deeper into your own gut."

"Unfortunately, you have to allow yourself to get to that point where you're even able to do that, and until I made this album, I wasn't at that place where I felt I could," she said. (via Billboard)

Even though Sabrina Carpenter already opened up about creating her new album, fans will have to wait until the singer shares more information about her next project.

As of this writing, the singer has yet to reveal an official release date or timeline, tracklist, or collaborators.

In other updates about Sabrina Carpenter, the singer is being linked to actor Barry Keoghan after they were spotted on a night out in Los Angeles, California.

According to People Magazine, the pair was seen hanging out at Luna Luna, a theme park around the city, and sources told the outlet that the outing looked like a date.

"It definitely seemed like a date," the insider said, then they also reportedly shared a "little kiss" that evening.

Despite the speculations, the two have yet to address the dating rumors surrounding them.
