The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is almost as known for its special surprise guests as it is for the officially billed performers — the fest's amusing nickname in the biz is "Cameochella" — and two Latin music sensations, Shakira and Becky G, made headlines Friday when they unexpectedly appeared in the Indio desert.

Shakira used her time onstage to make a major career announcement, but it was another, official Coachella performer, actress/songstress Suki Waterhouse, whose more personal news was the sweetest and cutest announcement of the day.

It was during Argentine EDM/hip-hop artist Bizarrap's live Bzrp Music Session in the Sahara dance tent that Shakira hydraulically emerged, rising like a phoenix, in an ombre mini-dress that perfectly matched the fiery desert sunset outside, to guest on their Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran collab "La Fuerte." The Latin music icon was clearly thrilled to be there, telling the crowd and "my colleague, my friend" Bizarrap that it was an "amazing" experience. She then revealed, "I have to share something today: Biza, I'm going on tour! I'm going on tour, finally! Starting here, this November, this year, this city. I can't wait. I couldn't ask for more." (While Shakira's actual tour dates have not yet been announced, she was presumably referring to Thousand Palms' new 11,000-capacity Acrisure Arena, which is a 20-minute drive from Coachella's Empire Polo Field.) Shakira and Bizarrap then celebrated with another duet, "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53."

Becky G's cameo during charismatic regional Mexican music sensation Peso Pluma's breakout main stage set was a return-the-favor reunion of sorts, because Peso surprise-dueted with the Mexican-American pop star when she played the same stage just last year. This year they reprised their performance of her hit "Chanel," after which Peso brought out corridos tumbados singer-songwriter Junior H for "El Azul," Guanajuato rapper Santa Fe Klan for "No Son Klle," and reggaeton/Latin trap star Arcángel for "Peso Completo."

But it seemed like Waterhouse was having the best festival experience, as she made her live Coachella debut. Looking like a reincarnated Anita Pallenberg in her marabou feather coat and beachy-blonde pageboy on a lush enchanted-forest stage, the singer-songwriter gratefully gushed, "I cannot believe that this is my life!" and told the rapt audience, "Oh my goodness! I don't know if some of you know, but I've had some big life changes happen recently. Some pretty big events have been going down..."

Waterhouse then revealed the sex of the baby she had last month with her fiancé, Twilight actor Robert Pattinson (who was at the festival to support her), introducing "Faded" by saying, "I love amazing ladies, and I've been very lucky to have my own little amazing lady and meet the love of my life." On a day ruled by amazing ladies like Lana Del Rey (with another A-list surprise guest, Billie Eilish), Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Chlöe, Tinashe, and Brittany Howard, Waterhouse's reveal was especially moving. She also dedicated "Johana" to "women's rights" before doing a cover song for the lads, Oasis's "Don't Look Back in Anger."

Oasis's Britpop rivals/peers, Blur, will perform Saturday at Coachella, an indie/alternative-centric day also featuring Vampire Weekend, Sublime, Bleachers, the Drums, and the highly anticipated return of No Doubt.
