Taylor Swift is securely chained to a hospital bed, adorned with intricate tattoos on her face, creating a series of symbolism in her latest music video, "Fortnight."

The music video for her lead single off the album The Tortured Poets Department is a four-minute exploration of profound significance embedded in every carefully chosen prop.

A subtle clue suggests she may have been in a private engagement with British actor Joe Alwyn.

Resembling the tattoos sported by Post Malone, Swift's facial ink makes a bold statement in the music video.

Making brief appearances are Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, known for their roles in the classic 1989 movie Dead Poets Society.

At the music video's story, Swift is restrained to a bed in an unusual room within the asylum, her bridal gown stark against the backdrop.

The lingering presence of a garter on her thigh is a poignant reminder of the unfulfilled promise of a walk down the aisle, possibly with her longtime boyfriend now ex-boyfriend, Alwyn.

With the somber tone of their relationship transition becoming clear, the 14-time Grammy winner makes a striking appearance in a black Victorian gothic gown during the latter portion of the music video.

Swift and Alwyn's Breakup

Swift and Alwyn who had been a couple for six years until their breakup in 2023, had allegedly, discreetly agreed to tie the knot and shared the news with their trusted circle of friends.

A tweet from the fan site Thread Of Gold highlighted the video, saying: "She really said she was expecting to wear a white wedding dress only to then attend the funeral of her relationship in a black dress."

It seems Swift drew influence from her friend, actress Emma Stone, known for her role in the Victorian London-set film Poor Things.

The video explores her brief love affair with The 1975 lead vocalist Matty Healy, during which she showcases her vocal talents, singing, "I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary."

Swift then makes a dramatic exit from the asylum, perching atop a telephone box as a symbolic gesture of independence from Alwyn and Healy.

However, it's still important to note that neither Swift nor Alwyn confirmed they were ever engaged in the span of their relationship.
