Now that Hollywood has come to terms with the unexpected death of Joan Rivers, it is back to business and one huge decision was what to do about Fashion Police, the E! show that featured the comedienne.

The show's executive producer just so happens to be Joan's daughter, Melissa Rivers, and after much thought she came to the conclusion that the show must continue. During a Sept. 19 tribute to the legend, Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan, Melissa reassured viewers that the show will return in time for the Golden Globes Jan. 12.

That special episode of Fashion Police actually entertained a record 1.1 million viewers, leading E! to believe that with the right person cast, the show may actually continue just as Joan would have wanted it to.

One woman reportedly making the final cut as a possible replacement for Joan is Kathy Griffin.

She has already built a name and career for herself and has proven that she can motivate people to tune in. Griffin was also a good friend of Rivers, which makes her landing the gig even more likely. No doubt producers want to cast someone Joan would approve of, and that means her friend probably has a better shot at landing the job.

What are your thoughts on Fashion Police returning without Joan? Do you think the show should go on without her, or was she the reason most people tuned in? Does Griffin fit the bill as far as a replacement goes? Can she balance out the panel and adjust to any of the guest stars the way Rivers did? Can you think of someone who might be a better fit for the job? If so, tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
