Nearly two weeks after Joan Rivers checked into The Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic for a minor procedure the facility is beginning to speak up. Yesterday morning a report surfaced claiming that the doctor who operated on Joan saw something on her vocal cords and proceeded to do a biopsy on it. The report further stated that her vocal cords seized during the biopsy, blocking her airway completely and that this was what likely lead to the comedienne's cardiac arrest. Now the Yorkville Clinic has come out swinging saying that no biopsy was done on Rivers.

They also put The Daily News' original report on further blast by saying that they do not administer general anesthesia but instead use "light to moderate sedation." If this is truly the case then there is still no obvious reason for Joan's death. Her autopsy that was performed last week was "inconclusive," with more information being needed to try and pin down a formal cause of death.

The Yorkville Clinic has been under investigation since a few days after Joan's endoscopic procedure ultimately led to her never regaining consciousness. Sources close to the situation have been saying that Joan's daughter, Melissa Rivers has been insisting that some sort of malpractice occurred along the way during what is normally considered to be a minor procedure.

Do you think that the clinic is now trying to cover their tracks now in the wake of this full investigation? Are they desperately trying to divert attention from the mistakes that might have been made or is the Yorkville Clinic now being dragged through the mud in spite actually doing everything by the medical book?
