VH1's "You Oughta Know" franchise has been highlighting artists on the rise and serving as a "who's hot" barometer since 2005. This year, for the second time, they put on the You Oughta Know Concert, hosted this time by Nicole Richie of VH1's Candidly Nicole. The YOK class of 2014 were Aloe Blacc, Sam Smith, Echosmith, American Authors, Chvrches, A Great Big World, Mary Lambert, Tove Lo, KONGOS, Vance Joy, and Bleachers.

The evening’s presenters included Chaka Khan (Sam Smith), Debbie Harry (Chvrches), Alicia Keys (Aloe Blacc), Nick Jonas (Tove Lo), Nick Lachey (Mary Lambert), Rob Thomas (Vance Joy), Darren Criss (A Great Big World), and Fitz and Noelle of Fitz and the Tantrums (Bleachers).

We were able to get in on the action and see the class of 2014 perform. Check out our Instagram coverage from the night.

Richie started off the night showcasing her rap skills as Nikki Fre$h along with her hype man, Naughty By Nature's Treach.

We later heard Artist of the Year Sam Smith perform "Stay With Me" and "I'm Not the Only One." Aloe Blacc performed his hit "I'm the Man;" Echosmith performed "Cool Kids;" American Authors performed "Believer" and "Best Day of My Life;" Chvrches performed "The Mother We Share;" A Great Big World performed "This Is the New Year" and "Say Something;" Mary Lambert performed "Secrets;" Tove Lo performed "Habits (Stay High);" KONGOS performed "Come With Me Now" from a boat on the river; and Vance Joy performed "Riptide."

Bleachers closed out the night with performances of "I Wanna Get Better" and a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way" with help from Chvrches singer Lauren Mayberry.

If you haven't been paying attention to these acts, start following them now. If the past is any indication, these guys could be future Grammy winners.
