CeeLo Green made headlines a few months back with his controversial rape tweets. He's been pretty quiet ever since but he recently spoke out on the public's treatment of Bill Cosby. The Gnarls Barkley singer says it's "not fair" that people assume that the famed comedian is guilty.

As noted by Complex, Cosby is 20 accusations in and America's one-time favorite television dad has seemingly been shunned by his fans. Whoopi Goldberg and Jill Scott came to his defense prior to Green, who shared his opinion with TMZ.

"You can't defend yourself in that capacity," he said. "You just have to let facts be facts, and so on and so forth...none of this seems fair. It's just unfortunate because he's so beloved to so many people."

Back in August, CeeLo pled no contest to sharing ecstasy with a woman in 2012 following accusations that he slipped the drug in her drink at a bar in Los Angeles. He later took to Twitter to defend his own actions writing, "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously." He also added, "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" Green deleted his social media account shortly thereafter, but not before the comment was seen and retweeted countless times.

He reinstated the Twitter account in early September and offered a semi-apology for the statements "attributed" to him on the site. Green's TBS reality program, The Good Life, was cancelled after just six episodes and one season. Many of his festival performances were cancelled as well.

"I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe," he tweeted.
