Although shopping malls and radio stations always jump the gun with holiday music, now that Thanksgiving is officially over, it's acceptable--In moderation. Luckily it doesn't have to be all of the same stuff we hear every year because there are new songs coming out this year (besides Bad Religion's new Christmas album).

Yo La Tengo, This American Life's Ira Glass and comedian Eugene Mirman have put together quite the holiday collection. As Consequence of Sound describes it: "With its tale of a holiday holocaust, their track "Toymageddon" gives Weird Al's "The Night Santa Went Crazy" competition for the most savage holiday song ever."

The song is not about Santa's influence on the turnout of Christmas like Weird Al's, though. It's about the gifts and a toy takeover. Glass's voice shares "My Little Ponies were the first to arrive." References to I ,Robot  and The Matrix give you an idea of what the general theme is for "Toymegeddon," if the song name itself didn't give it away.

The song will be featured in the collection of tracks called 2776: A Millennium of American Asskickery from Rob Kutner and The Levinson Brothers. It's a comedy album due out next Fourth of July and it's sure to be hilarious with the contriubution of many funny people. It will include collaborations from Ed Helms, Aimee Mann, Aubrey Plaza, Will Forte, Andrew W.K. and others.

Yo La Tengo, Glass and Mirman appear in the illustrated action video for "Toymegeddon." Watch it below and keep your eyes open this Christmas for demonic toys.
