Nothing is a bigger bummer for artists then having their albums leaked. It is even worse when it is the culmination of years of hard work put in and the eventual result was going to be a free release, with the option for payment. This is what happened to UK producer, Jon Gooch, better known by his electro-dubstep moniker, Feed Me, or in this case his drum n' bass persona, Spor.
His album, Caligo, was originally scheduled for release on March 9th through BitTorrent and then officially on Beatport and iTunes two days later. However, it leaked three weeks early and now he and his team were forced to move up the release date to today. Gooch had an AMA prepared for March 9th and also moved that up to today and shared his thoughts on the leak and how prepared he was for something like to occur.
"I anticipated this happening, no matter how hard I worked to prevent it. As a result, we were fully prepared," Spor stated. "It's important to be pragmatic. In the end, I'm more so flattered that people are interested, Gooch remarked. "I only wish more people showed that level compassion and emotional intelligence regarding peoples work."
"How do I feel? Seeing a good few people saying they were prepared to wait it out, and showing some feeling towards it leaking really is flattering, so a huge thank you to all those people. It's impossible not to be really attached to something you've worked on for so long, I really do appreciate the unity. That said - I'm not one to dwell, and I've got the best team and management in the world, as well as BitTorrent fully behind us, so it's also been humbling watching them all react so quickly."
