Deadmau5 can be a Grinch sometimes online or seemingly too preoccupied with his cars, but he uses his label mau5trap to support new talent that is bubbling up through the electronic music space. The main conduit for this has been his We Are Friends compilations that take tracks from new or underappreciated artists on his label or the newly signed and showcases one of their songs in a compilation. Volume 3 has just been released with tracks from the likes of Fehrplay, Matt Lange, Eekkoo, Pig&Dan and others.
The compilation is by and large unreleased material from these artists, though Fehrplay's "Pyara" is a previously released track on mau5trap that has been given a special "live edit" for the compilation.
Deadmau5 left a note via the label's SoundCloud page to his fans, or as he calls them, the "horde," about the compilation:

this month it gives us great pleasure to bring you the third installment of our We Are Friends concept. Since day one, the compilation series has focused on giving exposure to new and exciting artists from all over the globe. vol 3 continues on that path. we'll be introducing you to some fresh faces, but we've got some of our moar established mau5trap fam on there too. Big thanks to all our artists for getting involved, and a little shout out to ATTLAS for the minimix trailer. no pre-orders or any of that jazz this time round; release date for the compilation is Monday 16th Feb, and it will be available on all your favorite purchasing and streaming sites. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
