Death Cab For Cutie is continuing to tease the release of its new album Kintsugi by dropping new songs. Following the release and music video for the album's lead single "Black Sun," today (Feb. 23), DCFC officially released the next track from the album, "No Room In Frame."

"No Room In Frame" is the opening track to Kintsugi, and mixed with "Black Sun" (track No. 2), it seems as though this new album will mark the return of a stripped down Death Cab For Cutie.

The track (and album) begins with small scatterings of light sounds, before a swinging, sing-song melody courtesy of Ben Gibbard kicks in and the rest of the band enters with a slow dripping guitar and steady, subdued drumbeat.

Though the opening verse is small, the chorus builds ever so slightly, with an earworm worthy hook and increasingly heightened volume and emotion from Death Cab.

As an opening track, "No Room In Frame" sets the, well, framework of Kintsugi and slowly eases the listener into the album and the band's always-developing sound.

Though it's not quite We Have The Facts and We're Voting Yes, there's something old school Death Cab surrounding this track, from the watery guitars to the soft, controlled vocals from Gibbard. For longtime fans of Death Cab For Cutie, it will be a welcome return to the oldest of old school days.
