More people are chiming in on Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift's Twitter exchange about race, body image and the 2015 MTV VMAs. After Minaj called out the network for not nominating her "Anaconda" music video for Video of the Year and Swift took it personally, Ed Sheeran is coming to the defense of his friend and "Bad Blood."

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Sheeran commented on Swift defending herself and her friends in the "Bad Blood" music video against Minaj's comments about being a woman of color in the music industry.

"I think everyone knows that Taylor has done nothing wrong in that situation. She didn't nominate herself for the awards. She just made some good videos and people think they're good," he said. He then went on to call Minaj's point "redundant."

"I think the Minaj point is a bit redundant. Her point is that you have to be skinny and white to get a Video of the Year nomination, but Beyoncé's '7/11' is in there, and that is celebrating the female figure in every form."

Later, Sheeran faced similar backlash as Swift, saying that he missed the point about race that Minaj was making and not size. He then, once again, defended himself on Twitter in a response to Buzzfeed UK, saying that his quotes were taken "out of context."

Meanwhile, Sheeran isn't the only one who felt the need to comment on Swift's "Bad Blood" nominations versus "Anaconda." Katy Perry, who is reportedly the subject of Swift's latest 1989 single, called out her rival pop star, saying that she's profiting off of the takedown of a woman while condemning Minaj in the name of female solidarity.
