Yesterday Nicki Minaj sent off a barrage of tweets after being slighted by the VMA nominations, whick overlooked her music videos "Anaconda" and "Feeling Myself" with Beyonce for Video Of The Year. In a stream of tweets Minaj and her millions of Barbz took fire at MTV, and seemingly superstar Taylor Swift, who was nominated for the coveted award. It didn't take Swift long before she responded to Minaj's shade, which resulted in a back-and-forth Twitter war of words.

The "Bad Blood" singer took to her Twitter late Tuesday afternoon to voice her frustrations at being singled out by Minaj who didn't necessarily say her name but alluded to the fact she was taking aim at Swift with the tweet "if your video celebrates women with slim bodies, you will get a video of the year nomination."

Swift believed she was the target of the subliminal tweet and responded disappointed that Minaj would seek to pit women with different body images against one another with her carless messages.

Of course this prompted a response from Minaj who feigned innocence suggesting that the content seemed to go over Swift's head, and that she in fact was shedding light on being marginalized as a woman of color who didn't fit a particular body mold.

The two went back in forth in a series of tweets, but ultimately the love and admiration the two women have for one another won out. Swift who seemed to bow out gracefully extended an olive branch to Minaj informing her that if she won the nomination they could accept the award together.

MTV 2015's VMA are gearing up to be a very exciting one indeed with all of the drama between the stars, and this is only the nomination phase! The show will air on Aug. 30 with host Miley Cyrus.
