People may still be doing the "Hotline Bling" "Cha Cha," but Virginia rapper D.R.A.M. is back in a major way that isn't just calling out Drake for jocking his track. He has been tabbed by the ever so potent trio of Walshy Fire, Jillionaire and Diplo, better known as Major Lazer, to remix their Peace Is The Mission track with Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley titled "Powerful."

D.R.A.M. switches things up a bit, changing the production as well as adding his own verses to the track. He keeps the chorus from Tarrus Riley, but drops a lot of the verses from Ellie Goulding and injects his own bars to the track. On the production, the original has a pretty subdued feel that builds into the chorus. D.R.A.M. keeps that same dynamic, but adds a little more energy with horns, guitar and snare rolls.

What makes this even better is that Major Lazer is offering up this remix up as a free download.

Major Lazer has not commissioned many remixes for their album Peace Is The Mission a few months out from the album's release. They have already released official packages for "Powerful" and "Lean On," in addition to the seemingly endless supply of unofficial reworks of "Lean On" that arrived over the summer. D.R.A.M. is thus one of the lucky ones to get in early and puts a new spin on this Major Lazer single.

The original was one of the album's uneven highlights, but this remix may just top what Major Lazer did on Peace Is The Mission. It may be enough to forget about the "Hotline Bling" controversy for a little while and focus on new music.
