Pharrell Williams is all over The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. He co-wrote the score with Hans Zimmer and Smith's guitarist Johnny Marr, produced Kendrick Lamar and Alicia Keys' "It's on Again," and even recorded his own solo track, "Here," for the album.
Influenced by his latest album, G I R L, and moving away from the disco-funk of his recent collaborations, "Here" is a sweeping pseudo-folk ballad full of strings, acoustic guitar and Pharrell crooning, "My dear it seems we're here again / So much for effort / Isn't it clear we're here again / Our thing right where we left it."
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 official soundtrack hits stores April 22 via Columbia Records. In addition to Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar and Alicia Keys, it features contributions from The Neighbourhood, LIZ and Phosphorescent.
