The Fault In Our Stars is the story of two cancer-ridden teenagers who fall in love against all odds and try and make the best of their short time together despite being, you know, sick and star-crossed. So, in a way, it's only fitting that the movie adaptation of the hot-selling young adult John Green novel would get an Ed Sheeran song as its soundtrack. Today (May 9), the "Sing" musician released "All Of The Stars" from the movie's soundtrack.

Though Sheeran's latest single "Sing" from his upcoming album x features his funkier, Pharrell Williams-inspired side, "All Of The Stars" finds the singer-songwriter returning to his familiar, lighter and acoustic driven territory.

"It's just another night and I'm staring at the moon / Saw a shooting star and thought of you," he sings softly at the song's beginning, as a soft piano accompaniment and slide guitar drifts beneath the surface.

The verses keep things soft and smooth, but the choruses blast into full ballad territory with a bit of pumped up music and a soaring hopefulness in Sheeran's voice.

The song, which was released on Sheeran's YouTube page, was accompanied by a short music video. A variety of inspirational quotes both handwritten and hang on a wall, including the book's signature line "Okay? Okay." Sheeran himself appears at the end of the clip, singing the final lines to the poignant track.
