It's been a big April for Ed Sheeran. First, the singer-songwriter announced his second studio album x alongside a new single "Sing," a tracklist and album cover. Over the weekend (April 12), he performed on Saturday Night Live for the first time. Now, he'll be going from studio 8H to stadiums around the United States and Canada. Today (April 14), Sheeran announced his 2014 tour dates in support of x.

According to Idolator, Sheeran will be kicking off his live shows on Aug. 22 in Seattle before hitting 16 cities across the continent. He'll hit up Las Vegas for two nights, Cleveland, Charlotte and Boston before wrapping things up on Sept. 18 in Toronto.

The North American tour will precede his previously announced dates in the UK. Sheeran announced he will be hitting up his home country for 11 shows back in January. That leg will begin on Oct. 6 in Dublin, Ire.

Both tours will follow the release of Sheeran's new album x, which is due out in stores on June 23.
