Saturday Night Live may have been full of CNN pregnancy tests and cameos from Zooey Deschanel, Taylor Swift and James Franco during the Seth Rogen hosted program on Saturday night (April 12), but in the midst of monsters and steak, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran debuted live two new singles from his upcoming album x: "Sing" and "Don't."

The first Sheeran performance of the night, of course, was his latest single "Sing," which dropped in full a week ago (April 7). He started the track off on a dark stage, himself wearing a black jacket, T-shirt and pants, with nothing but his acoustic guitar driving the funky beat. With that big ol' drop before the epic, funky post-chorus, the blue and green lights illuminated the stage and things got turnt up.

Sheeran started some fast-paced rap singing as the song grooved along, and if you doubted the total brilliance of "Sing" before, it only came through more through this showing.

"Sing" wasn't the only x track Sheeran debuted over the weekend, he also dropped the brand spankin' new song "Don't." If "Sing" is a little too heavy on that disco for you, "Don't" is a solid blend of Sheeran's debut album, +, and his newer, heavier sound. The chorus of singers remains in this track, along with the grit and biting, heartbroken lyrics.

But, the guitar-driven melody is a little more old school Sheeran and returns back to those chilled out, Jason Mraz-y vibes that listeners are a little more familiar with.

Ed Sheeran's new album x is due out June 23. He announced the news of his new album, along with the tracklist and album artwork, last week.
